In the late nineteenth century, just after the discovery of X rays by Roentgen, Louis Darget, a retired military and occult enthusiast, made numerous attempts to record his thoughts on a photographic plate. The lecture will focus on the rhetoric discourse established by Darget around his images. Clement Cheroux is curator for photography at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Presented in partnership with the Ryerson Gallery & Research Centre and School of Image Arts
