We suppose that our life stories are ours to construct. But the corporate-engineered consumer culture manufactures inauthentic desires and needs, creating illusions, false and fleeting euphoria, and unrealistic expectations. Featured in the exhbition are candid street photographs of the Yonge-Dundas and Queen Street West areas of Toronto combined with studio portraits and nude figurative photography. Groupings and collages emphasize the ironic juxtaposition of the illusions created by ad imagery and our day-to-day reality.
