Experience one of the earliest photographic printing processes! Van Dyke is a non-silver process that can be combined or used independently to create distinctive Brown toned imagery on natural materials such as silk or art papers. This hands-on workshop with Sally Ayre will teach proper coating, exposing, and developing techniques for Van Dyke.
Sally Ayre is a photo-based installation artist and printmaker living in Toronto. The development and creation of her artwork gives Sally the space for quiet and contemplative moments difficult to find in a large city. She has spent most of her practice creating images using alternative photographic processes on fabric and recently has begun to explore printmaking. Sally is a graduate of OCAD and has been exhibiting her work in Canada since 1990.
