Instructors Paul Sergeant and Amanda Rataj share with participants the knowledge and the history of the tintype, as well as contemporary uses of this antique process. Participants learn how to pour a wet-plate using collodion, print tintypes of personal images from positive transparencies using an enlarger, and compose and shoot unique portraits of each other using a historical wet-plate camera. At the end of the day, students will take home their own personalized plate tintypes.
