ARCHITECTURAL DEVOLUTION: Industrial Buildings in a Post-Industrial Age

David Kaufman

The era of the imposing brick-and-steel factories that once shaped great cities is coming to an end. In this new exhibition, architectural photographer Kaufman surveys the fate of older industrial buildings within the de-industrialized urban context. Drawing on images created over several decades in Europe and North America, Kaufman illustrates in highly detailed photographs the condition of buildings purpose-built for various economic enterprises, many of which have outlived their original functions.
