Visual artists Harry Compton, Chelsea Pineda, and Jai Toor have collaborated and collectively curated bodies of work responding to the theme Fantasy, Family, and the Strangely Familiar. The projects explore notions of the uncanny, family history, and reflective trauma.
UK-based artists Toor and Compton’s works, Where There’s a Will There’s a Way and The Sunny Side of the Island were both produced in Canada, whilst Filipina-American Pineda’s Barako series was made in the Philippines.
Each series issues a commentary on diasporic relations, family, and place that are widely present within North American society.
