Thomas Hoepker will present a slideshow of his work accompanied by personal stories revealing his experiences as a photojournalist and documentary filmmaker. Hoepker studied art history and archeology; he worked as a photographer for Münchner and as art director for Stern. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious Kulturpreis of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie in 1968 and first prize from the German Ministry of Foreign Aid in 1999 for Death in a Cornfield, his TV film on Guatemala. His 50-year retrospective exhibition toured Europe in 2007. Hoepker became a full member of Magnum Photos in 1989 and was president from 2003 - 2006.
