Unlike the precision of wildlife photography,  these images feature textural impressions of behaviour. Savannah Baboons are studied to learn more about human social interactions. These digital images, conjuring up impressionist paintings, pose the fine art and craft tradition with the documentary. This photographic presentation is, however, an alternative to popular media in both form and finish, foregrounding a human stand-in, and investing meaning in the everyday life of a distant relative.
